Python Temple, Ouidah

A traditional place of worship in the centre of Ouidah, known for its harmless royal pythons. It faces the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Ouidah is easy to explore on foot: the basilica, the history museum in the old Portuguese fort, the Afro-Brazilian houses and, at the end of the Slave Route, the Door of No Return. It is an active place of worship: dress modestly and ask before taking photos.
