Teranga, Senegalese hospitality

One word that sums up how the country welcomes you.

Teranga means hospitality, a value Senegalese people are proud of. You will often be invited to share a meal around a common bowl: eat with your right hand, from the part of the dish in front of you. Taking time over greetings is part of good manners: asking after the family before getting to the point is always appreciated.
